I've been working on a series of portraits this week. Kristine is currently in a production of Calendar Girls and as the season is coming to an end she has been trying to decide on gifts to give her fellow cast members. I suggested a small portrait each and have since been working every day this week to complete the 12 individual portraits before

Thanks! The portraits are a bit of a cheat, in that they are all image transfer and then painted over the top. I only had a week to do them in, hence the short cut. Still, it was a good exercise in colour matching, detail and patience.

I'm glad you confirm the photo-based concept. There's an eeriness about them in their loveliness. As you said, it's a good exercise in technique.

I've seen your paintings. I'm a real fan, no matter what the technique. Artistry goes beyond technique.
