Men and computers are definitely the same.

Oi I take offense!

Comparing men in general to a hewlett packard laptop is like comparing a house with a cardboard box!

Laptops are bastards. They can only be made by companies and are very expensive to fix. Desktops on the other hand are so repairable and much more reliable.

I consider myself a desktop, I may not be the top of the range but God dammit I can run the applications you need.

If and when you buy a new computer Hannah go for a desktop. If its compactness you are after get a shuttle PC. If you desperately want another laptop buy a Dell or Sony Vaio - i've heard they are the best.

Oh and the groaning is most likely due to your hard drive failing. Alternatively your fan has got fucked and overheated your CPU causing it to melt your motherboard. Did you ever hear any beeps? Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

I used to like hewlett packard on account of their excellent staff training methods - once you were trained in the HP way you didn't need to know anything else. it was like being a jesuit.

Then after the merger with compaq they seriously dropped the ball on their branding and haven't paid attention to which markets are worth something and which ones aren't, so they're fighting in non growth markets while the printing business is taking off. i wouldn't be surprised to see HP leave desktops and laptops behind in the next few years - i hope they do.
