New Project! -or- A Cry For Help.

I want to build a 4x12 unpowered speaker cabinet for my guitar rig that will handle around 200 watts RMS. I can pick out the speakers and build the cabinet, but I know next to nothing about crossovers and wiring. Anybody know where I can buy a wiring kit? Or can somebody tell me what I need to do this thing?

I may be wrong on this, but since it's a 4x12 you're not really going to need a crossover circuit. I would think you could get by wiring the speakers in some combination of series and/or parallel and just go straight to the jack with that.

I'll see if I can find any of my old notes on the subject, and get back to you.

from http://www.duncanamps.com/technical/speaker_cab.htmlFor four speaker systems, I have found it is best to wire in a series-parallel configuration, where two separate pairs of speakers are wired in series, and the resulting pairs are wired in parallel. In this configuration, buy drivers with the same impedance as you need (for a 8 ohm cabinet, buy four 8 ohm drivers).

Thanks a lot -- that definitely points me in the right direction. Now I just have to get off my ass and actually do something...
