Today marks the anniversary of the Great Molasses Flood that ravaged several city blocks of Boston in 1919.

It was an unusually warm day, and a molasses tank burst under pressure, sending roughly 2.3 million gallons of molasses in a 15-foot waves that knocked over buildings, killed 21 and injured 150 ( Read more... )
