Every time I read a post of yours about Chase's injury, I feel such a strong sense of deja-vu. That is awesome that he is doing so well. Malek couldn't cover his eyes the "right way" till his last surgery (muscle and tendon transfer) a year ago so that is very cool that Chase can.
With pants, we just by elastic waist or adjustable waist so that they are easier to get up and down. I don't think Malek could manipulate his hand enough right now to unbutton a button, however supination is my goal this year.
Chase being potty trained is SO awesome. I am hoping to work on Nyla and the potty as soon as Malek is back in preschool. Good job Momma!

Yay, Chase! He has come such a long way, and I'm sure he will continue to improve a lot, whether it takes surgery to help him along or no.

I never let him think he can't do something.
My mom gets frustrated with me because if he is struggling to say climb on to the couch, I let him struggle and don't help unless he asks. He can do it, it just takes more work and it gets easier for him every day :o)
It's my own way of being like, "you can do it! use 2 hands and pull!" I don't want to baby him, I'm afraid it'll hold him back.

I don't blame you. I think you're doing the right thing.

I am so happy to hear how well Chase is doing with his OT and Potty. The suggestion for elastic waisted pants might help him gain confidence in doing the whole process by himself.
Amber has a slight slump in her shoulder and still occasionally has problems with getting her pants waist to lay flat and even. That reach and rotation is just a bit beyond her.
I believe it is important to let them work it out themselves. That is the best way to learn self confidence, doncha think?
