The gallery doors were open, but the CLOSED sign was up. Sophie was sitting in the main reception area, drinking coffee. Trying not to think too hard over any upcoming discussions by going over the books again.

[for a certain out-of-towner, but open before and after his arrival.]

On the upside, Nate was still on the wagon. Which was a good, big upside, right?

With his hands stuffed into his pockets, Nate walked into the gallery, his eyes trained on Sophie. Which would explain why the first word out of his mouth was her name, followed by a, "Nice place you've got here."

"Hello, Nate." A bit calmer, now that they were out of the public eye. "Care for some coffee?" She got up from her desk, offering him a wary but sincere smile. "We can talk a bit more freely here."

"Yeah, I'd..." He gave the inside of the room the once-over, marking out the layout in his head. "I'd like some coffee."

Sophie noted the noticing, and looked around herself, lips quirking upward at all the latest upgrades installed after Parker's last little foray. She poured a cup for him, and for herself, and slowly crossed the room to hand it to him.

"I thought separating was the plan." She took a sip of her own, not challenging him. Then again, pointing out obvious inconsistencies was a challenge, wasn't it. "Which isn't to say I'm sorry to see you."
