Christmas Eve, 4 Apocalypse Avenue

Dec 20, 2009 16:57

Sophie was home for the evening. Just the evening. She had hot cider and cookies, and instead of attempting a turkey or ham again, she had boxes and boxes of Chinese, Thai and Indian food. Wine was chilling, coffee was made, and there was chocolate ganache cake.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

There was a knock on her door as well.

Sophie opened the door, smile wide. "You made it!" She leaned in to give him a welcoming kiss, then said, "What have I missed while I was in Boston?" holding the door open for him.

"The usual madness," he told her with a little grin, "though... nothing dire. I'm in the midst of picking next play."

Sophie shut the door, and smiled. "Cider or wine? And what thoughts are you having on Shakespeare?" It struck her that it wasn't a relief, exactly, to be contemplating the next play; but it was still of interest. Not one that overcame the appeal of the work with her friends. Of equal value, though.
