Sophie was doing the accounts for the Boards, checking the Box Office receipts against the bills to be paid. So far they were in the black through the summer. Of course, that was not taking into account whatever Geoffrey had done to the accounts in the first place

There was a knock on the door.

Sophie put down her calculator and went to the door, opening it with a smile that slid into shock when she saw who was on the other side.

"Geoffrey."

Geoffrey held out a rapier. He also winced.

"Hello, Sophie. I'm... not dead. If that's a good thing, I mean. I'm trying to lead with good things. Other than this" and he wiggled the rapier, "which I brought as a courtesy."

"If you think I"m not going to take you up on it--" Sophie's hand shot out and closed on the hilt. "You are entirely wrong." She held the door open.

Skewering was private after all. And she was going to take the option if it was offered, damnit.
