Did you read AJ Jacobs' first book The Know-It-All: One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World ? It's his spiritual journey in reading the entire Encyclopedia Britannica in the belief that it will make him smart.

No, I didn't but I hear it's hilarious. The Bible one is more to my taste. I'll let you know if I ever get around to it.
