The Resort

Jim looked up as the large grandfather clock stuck the hour. Eleven chimes rang out. One more hour and it would official be Christmas. They hadn’t been able to make it home to Earth for the holidays, but that was only fair. Not everyone celebrated Christmas and even if they did some of the crew’s family didn’t live on Earth. So when leave happened to corresponded with Christmas this year the crew of the Enterprise had come to a compromise, going to the planet they had visited for shore leave before in the Omicorn Delta region to recreate an old style resort for Christmas. Everyone had a large room all to themselves. Those who wanted a traditional white Christmas had taken over the front of the hotel, while others had set up a beach out back by a large pool. For Christmas Eve the crew had thrown a large party in the ballroom. Everyone was helping themselves to the food from the buffet, talking, laughing, and celebrating.

By all accounts Jim Kirk as their captain should be having a wonderful time, and he had been really. But now that the party was slowing down couples were beginning to form. Scotty and Uhura were singing off-key by the piano. Joanna, who had recently joined the Enterprise to finish her nursing practicum, was practically sitting in Kevin Riley’s lap by the large fireplace, and McCoy wasn’t even around to glare at them disapprovingly because he had disappeared with Christine Chapel an hour before.

He just wanted that for himself too. He looked over to the man he wanted to be with. Spock was currently standing in the far corner by the window nursing a glass of punch. Jim could go over there and ask him now, but he was certain Spock would only agree to being together because it was the holidays.

Jim sighed, finished off his drink, and left the party, going back to his own room.

His room might as well have been a giant neon sign that read ‘I want to spend Christmas with someone special.’ There was soft fire light coming from the fireplace along one wall. The bed was a four-poster with dark red sheets, and a thick comfortable mattress; perfect to share with someone else.

Jim shook his head. What was the matter with him? He was on a planet that could grant him anything he desired. He wanted Spock more than anything else, even if it was just for tonight and he could make that happen.

Jim concentrated on that desire and then turned as he heard a knock on the door.

He went over and opened it to see the planet’s creation of Spock waiting there in the hall. Oh he was perfect! He was even wearing the dark blue turtleneck sweater Spock himself had been wearing during dinner.

Now overly excited Jim grabbed the front of Spock’s shirt and kissed him.

The replicant Spock responded to the kiss eagerly but Jim still blushed and smiled sheepishly as he pulled back.

“Sorry, I should have invited you in first shouldn’t I?”

“There was mistletoe above the door. It is tradition. Though I don’t believe the kiss is quite so…deep.”

“Right…well come in I guess.”

Spock did and Jim stood there nervously. Now what was the matter with him? This is what he wanted so why was he acting like someone on their first date?

“Jim, is something wrong? You left the crew party abruptly and that,” he gestured to the door. “Display of affection is unlike you.”

“I know I was just excited I guess. I’ve wanted this for so long and now I guess I’m not sure what to do with it.”

Spock locked his eyes with Jim’s. Jim swallowed at the intense gaze, and had to remind himself that this Spock wasn’t the real thing.

“What is that you want, Jim?”

“You. You, Spock, it’s always been you.”

He went up to the Vulcan who was and yet wasn’t the man he desired.

“I love you I want to be with you, even if it’s just tonight. Can I have that?”

“You only needed to ask, Jim.”

With that declaration Spock was kissing him and pushing them back towards the bed. Soon they were under the covers, hair tussled, and clothes littering the floor.

As their actions became more intimate though Jim pulled away from Spock, trying to keep a level head; he did want this, but he should be mindful of what Spock wanted too, he was a Vulcan after all.

“Wait, wait…it can’t just be about me. What about what you want, Spock?””

Swiftly Spock moved on top of Jim, flipping him over so his back was against the mattress and pinning his arms to his side. Spock looked at Jim with hungry eyes.

“I want you, Jim, may I take you?”

Jim nodded and was then undone. Spock’s kisses were short and gentle on his skin as he moved their bodies together. The heat that grew between them though was hot and intense. Jim cried out in ecstasy as Spock worked every ounce of pleasure from his body. It was everything Jim dreamed it would be.

Jim basked in the afterglow and held Spock tightly as the clock struck midnight.

“Thank you,” he whispered.

Jim woke up the next morning to see that a fresh coat of snow covered the hills outside his window. He rolled over and looked at Spock, who was looking at him too.

“Good morning, Jim, did you sleep well?”

“Yes, it was wonderful, everything was.”

“I am grateful I could please you.”

“You did, so much.” Then Jim sighed. “It’s a shame it can’t last though.”

Spock raised that familiar eyebrow. “May I ask why not?”

“Well I can’t exactly take you back on the ship now can I?”

“I am confused, Jim, surly you do not plan to replace me.”

“I already have a first officer and a damned good one at that.”

Spock just continued to look at Jim in obvious confusion, before a possibility presented itself to him.

“Jim, are you under the impression I am one of the simulations of this planet?”

“You-you’re not?!”

“No.”

Jim suddenly went very pale and scrambled away from Spock.

“Oh god I’m so sorry! I-I thought that you…that this was only…I’m sorry if I’ve pushed too far, Spock! I-“

He made to leave the bed, only to stop when Spock grabbed his arm.

“Jim, since I’m not one of the recreations of this planet I am perfectly able to give consent. In fact I should be asking forgiveness from you since you did not know it was me.”

“No, no please don’t. I said it last night I always wanted you, Spock.”

Spock relaxed against the pillows and was content with that answer.

“So, this all really happened?” Jim asked.

“Indeed.”

“It doesn’t have to end when we go back to the ship?”

“I do not wish it to, Jim.”

“Me either,” Jim said, moving back over to Spock and relaxing in the Vulcans’ strong arms. “But I don’t understand something. Before you came to my room last night I wanted a version of you to come to me, why didn’t that happen?” he asked.

“The first time we came to this planet I questioned the makers on that point and they explained that the system would never create a duplicate of someone already on the planet, precisely to avoid this kind of confusion. So, I must ask you again, Jim, is this what you truly want?”

“Of course it is I always wanted to be you. I wouldn’t have even had this stupid fantasy if I didn’t.”

Jim leaned in and kissed Spock softly.

“And I want to do this every Christmas, Mr. Spock.”

Spock began lazily tracing his fingers over Jim’s. “As you wish, I would find it a very stimulating holiday tradition.”
