Gloria Mundi update

The cabal drove to Putnam Estate and talked with Simon (Chain Parris was out for the evening). He talked them through the reasons for confronting Chambers quickly. Calling the Nemean was discussed, but Tyrrhenus didn't want to owe the Ebon Noose anything (SMART!), so they went by themselves, after imbibing some wine from the White Putnams' Hallow.

They went to Chinatown and found Chambers' lair. Downstairs, they found a bookshelf full of handwritten notebooks (my influences should be obvious) and a room full of empty beds. One, actually, was still occupied, and Niamh cleansed the poison to stop him from dying. He told the cabal what had happened, asked if they were cops, and then left (he was so shocky that he probably would have believed them if they said "we are aliens," as long as he could leave that basement).

The mages found three portals. Jack looked back in time and saw which one Chambers went through. He stepped through it, saw Chambers in the museum raising zombies, and moved back in time a few seconds (that's Time 3, y'all) to tell the others. They piled through the portal and disrupted Chambers' spell. Morrigan raised several of the corpses herself, while the others attacked. Chambers tried to teleport away, but Jack moved back in time again and warned Ogma, who was then able to throw a Ward up over Chambers to prevent him from fleeing. Chambers, instead, called forth the spirit of the mirror, which attacked Tyrrhenus (that's an 18 dice pool for the Blast Numen, folks).

Niamh went to work healing Tyrrhenus to keep him from dying. Chambers tried to cast something (probably Space-related) and wound up with a Bedlam Paradox - Vocalization. Ogma heard him muttering "they'll never figure its ban", so he read Chambers' mind and found it (water). Tyrrhenus turned on the sprinkler system (meanwhile Morrigan's throwing zombies at the mirror spirit, the spirit is throwing glass shards at people, and Jack is punching at Chambers) and the glass became solid. Morrigan shot it, and the spirit shattered.

Between the other mages, they subdued Chambers. Morrigan saw Paul fading, and he thanked her for freeing him from Chambers. They took him back through the portal to his own basement and debated what to do with him. Jack finally injected him with some of his own poison (and lost a dot of Wisdom in the process), and Morrigan destroyed the body when he died. Bloodied and bruised, they checked the other portals and found that one went to their sanctum and the other went to the Danvers asylum. This only strengthened their belief that Chambers was a Tremere Lich.

So that was the end of this story. Next story, we'll be adding in a new player, so we'll see where that goes.
