I am currently at work.

Knitting my sweater.

With the full blessing of my supervisor, who is sitting just a few feet away from me and can see exactly what I am doing.

I do not even work in a yarn store.

It's been a bit of a slow day.

I'm doing accounts receivable/payable for a steel cutting shop. Just started three weeks ago.

Usually it isn't freakishly busy anyways, but it's always been during the last half hour of the day that I run out of stuff to do. Today? Lunch.

Oh, I love knitting! I knitted a scarf for my father when I was quite young - perhaps around twelve or thirteen - out of very soft black yarn, so he could wear it at work (he's a mailman and gets very, very cold in winter). He still wears it! You've just inspired me to go buy a pair of needles and some nice yarn and make a new scarf for myself this year. Thank you!

Haah, yes, a scarf seems like a useful thing for a maildude to have.

Have fun! I'm kind of almost tempted to make this one myself for my husband, and have been eyeing a Harry Potter-inspired 'phoenix feather' scarf for myself. :3

Oh, that is beautiful! I know nothing past the most basic knitting rows, so I'd never be able to attempt something so elaborate. It would be something I'd love to wear, though! I'm very into Harry Potter as well, so I've thought about knitting myself a Ravenclaw-house colour scarf - just the two different stripe colours, no crest or anything. I just don't think my skill is high enough. Maybe some day!

Well, hey, the best way to get better at anything is to practice. :3

There are a ton of knitting resources related to HP, though. I've got this book - which has the phoenix tears scarf and house scarves and socks and sweaters besides, hehe - but there's lots of free stuff on the web, too. If you wanted a crest on a scarf there's probably simple instructions somewheres out there.
