I'm hard at work on my fic for fandomfusion right now, and have been for about two weeks. It keeps getting longer. It's astounding. I think it'll be 4,000 words by the time I'm done. Considering 1,200 words is my go-to length, this is shocking

I've read a lot of 'Remus can't get drunk' fic, and though I enjoy it, I can't really see the logistics behind it. If anything, he seems like the type of person that would get drunk too fast and pass out early ;) Did you ever read 'The Firewhiskey Incident' by ladybracknell? It's hilarious.

Every once in awhile I get really into Marauder fic but I can't hold on to the enthusiasm because oh my gosh it's sad what happens to them. I get seriously depressed when I think too much about it. (overly invested much? um, YES) But I will definitely read The Firewhiskey Incident. I'm always up for some funny. Thanks for the rec!

I never understood the Remus doesn't get drunk thing, either, but then I know nothing about werewolf lore so I didn't question it until I was writing a scene with him drinking and alarm bells starting ringing. I shall now happily ignore them, though.

I haven't ever read a "Remus can't get drunk fic" but I do tend to read more R/T than Marauders. I would say it's a fanfic thing.

Good luck with your new fics! They sound intriguing. I would be glad to beta for you, but I haven't written Sirius before either, so not sure I would be the best person for the job. I am willing, though, so let me know. :)

I love Remus/Tonks and that's what I usually read, too, if I'm going to read about Remus, but sometimes I wander. Blame shoebox_project. I can't resist the funny.

If you don't mind, I'd be ever so grateful if you can look it over for me. I'm mainly just looking for someone to catch the stupid spelling and grammar mistakes I can't catch myself, and to let me know if anything comes jumps off the page oddly. I'm not looking for a Sirius expert or anything. My plan is to have it done by Friday so if that works for you, please let me know and I'll send it along. Thanks so much for the offer!

I don't believe Remus ever drinks enough of anything alcoholic in the books to get drunk, even if he was he most suseptable man on earth. I believe this is a fandom convention. If his werewolfishness influenced his metablolism at non full moon times, wouldn't he have other abilities too? Wouldn't he be very very strong? You would have to make it consistent.

Hm. You know, I don't think I've ever given this much thought before. I just went "oh, werewolf thing!" and moved on. But you're right, it would have to be consistent. Though in the can't-get-drunk fics I'm thinking of he is super strong, too. I'm not going to follow this particular convention, though, I don't believe.

Do you mind if I friend you? I saw you around springtime_gen and such, and since you're here already. :) Of course, if you're trying to keep your flist small I totally understand.
