way to luck out, lucky bike geek. ;) i know just enough to know that campy and shimano are the top quality brands (certainly a couple of decades ago - are they both in on that disk brake technology that seems to be gaining ground these days?).
my fancy orange Mikado touring bike (I haven indulged in commodity fetishism enough to anthropomorphise it and give it a name) is 57cm, I think, so 58.5cm sounds big... but i might be wrong about the 57cm. or maybe i'm shorter than you.
oh, and thanks for the virtual chummy punch on the shoulder on my entry... i am certainly looking forward to experiencing some Caribbean climate, as befits my more tropical genetic inheritance... ;)
