Dream big

 Every time I sit down to work on my current WIP, TAINTED FROST, I declare to my mom that "I'm working on my future best-selling novel." Obviously, I don't mean that seriously, but people always say to dream big, so that's exactly what I'm doing. Hah, I do exactly the same. Every time I talk about my novel to someone, I'm like, "Just you wait, it's gonna be a best-seller. There will be no negative reviews on it. Ever. Seriously. Yep."

I think it's just a writer thing.

I like your attitude! I think the same way - dream big. And why not? There are multi-millionaire, best-selling authors out there, so why shouldn't we join their ranks? But like you said, I think it's also important to keep smaller goals in mind. Just simple things like getting to the end of a manuscript. By keeping on track with our smaller goals, we can work towards the larger ones! Good luck with following your dreams! : D
