So ends my career at Borders. Today a supervisor called and told me not to come in tomorrow because there isn't any room on the schedule. As for next week, call them on Monday and talk to the manager since I'll probably be placed on an "on call" status. It's funny that you mention that e-books didn't kill Borders. I was just arguing with a friend of mine about this last night. In some ways, I'd think it's more accurate to say that the smarter marketing of its major competitor B&N probably killed Borders (on top of what you mention.)
Sorry to hear this, anyway. It always sucks to loose a job, but they should have at least thanked you for your service.
