Pie in the sky

Nov 24, 2009 22:43

I'm feeling kind of snarky and itching to stir up wank tonight, but instead I'm going to be all smug and boastful about the fact that I've written over

40,000 words

for my NaNo project and share a recipe for brown sugar pie that kit_the_brave asked for:

Ingredients1 stick butter, softened ( Read more... )

nanowrimo, carry me back to ole virginny

:D Thanks! Last time I did NaNo I gave up with 35K, so when I passed that number earlier this week I let out a whoop and a holler.

Try not to strangle your family, 'k? *g*

(none that I'm aware of. I'm just itching to start some.)

And you've still got a week left! \o/

lol thanks, I'll need the encouragement. T__T Do you have any special plans for Thanksgiving?

Ahhhhh, I see. XD I've actually been very pleased with the relative tranquility of HP fandom these days, because my current fandom is just incredibly wanky atm and seema to consist entirely of 12-year-old butthurt girls.

I know! If I can keep up with just under 1,700 words/day (I've been writing 1,800-2,000 wpd all week) then 50K is mine for the claiming.

Nope, just a quiet dinner at home with me, the Goblin, the dog, and a few dozen cows. :-P

HP fandom is weird sometimes. I don't know if it's me projecting my own state of mind on others or if this is really happening, but I seem to be seeing a resurgence of interest lately. I hope so, because I have plans for HP for 2010. :-)

On the down side, I had to take the main shipping comm for another one of my fandoms off my watch list because it's been taken over by 2 or 3 people with multiple WIPs who update each of them every day, often with headers like, "Chapter 86, part 9, subsection C, paragraph 13," and the update is only a few hundred words long. Okay, maybe I exagerrate, but not by much.

Hooray for NaNo!

And good heavens that pie sounds yummy. It's like a giant brown sugar Pop Tart! Or maybe like that treacle tart that Harry is always eating for dessert at Hogwarts...

It is VERY yummy. It is also VERY sweet, so you might want to have something handy to counteract the sugar overload.

Maybe I should eat it before Thanksgiving and use the sugar rush to clean the house.

Whee! You're doing great with the NaNo! Someday I'll attempt it. I may be 90 when it happens, but it WILL happen!

Just FYI, I picked up Cordelia's Honor today to read on our trip. I'll let you know what I think when I finish. :)

Yay! I'm glad you finally found a copy. I hope you enjoy it. At the least, you should appreciate the parallel - the first half of Shards of Honor has Cordelia and Aral stranded on an uninhabited planet. :-)

Have a great Thanksgiving camping!

Congratulations on the NaNo writing! I have been utterly useless at writing recently, so I am envious.

It's excellent pie, and oh-so Southern. I'd keep it away from Hogan though, or at least tie him down securely, otherwise the sugar high will be a wonder to watch. :-)
