Tuesday, after DADA, some deserted corridor [tag: Millicent]

Sep 27, 2005 12:08

DADA had been interesting as usual. Justin made a mental note to ask Ernie to practice those defensive spells. Now that he had a boyfriend who was even in the DA, too, they didn't need to wait for the DA meetings to practice ( Read more... )

Justin didn't get very far down the corridor before Millicent stepped out next to him.

"And where are you going in such a hurry then, little Hufflepuff? Eager to meet your boyfriend perhaps? Or did he let you run out on your own? That's just precious." She followed easily in his pace. One of the mistakes a lot of people did was to think that they might be able to outrun her.

Justin didn't stop. He'd never paid much attention to this Slytherin...Millicent somethingorother...and he had no clue why she would talk to him now. She didn't seem to be like the other girls who tried to talk him into taking them to Hogsmeade or meeting in the library, giving him those...weird looks.

"As you might know, I'm Professor Hagrid's Teaching Assistant. I'm going to meet up with him so I can persue my daily duties." Not that it was any of her business, but maybe staying polite would make her go away.

”Ooh, posh, aren’t you? Pursue your daily duties…” Millicent snorted and grabbed a hold of Justin’s arm, dragging him into a small broom cupboard, possibly one of the many Filch made use of. “I’m going to pursue my daily duties right now, which is to knock sense into little fairy boys.”

"Hey!!!! Let go of me!" Justin blinked as Millicent dragged him into the cupboard. "I didn't do anything to you, what's wrong with you?" He tried to free his sleeve, but the Slytherin's grip on him was tight.

Hagrid huffed as he strode up toward the castle. He was late. Why was he always late? His long strides ate up the distance quickly, but he was still late. What kind of example was he setting for his assistant? What would Justin think of him? He didn't want to set a bad example but he'd only been teaching for a few years and wasn't very good at it.

He paused at the castle entrance and looked around for Justin. After waiting for several minutes and wondering if the boy had gone on down to the barns by another path, Hagrid stepped into the castle to take a quick look around the main corridors.

"Hullo there, Justin!" he boomed jovially. "Sorry I'm late!"

Oh dear! Good thing Hagrid hadn't been earlier! Justin sniffed and ran the back of his hand over his face.

"Hello, Professor Hagrid. It's not problem." He hoped that Hagrid wouldn't ask about what happened and that he could crawl into the stable with the mooncalf and the Porlocks soon.

"Oh good! Thank yeh Justin!" Hagrid mopped his brow in relief with a huge saucer-like hand.

"Well, yeh ready? Hey now, are you all right? Yeh look a little peaked." He peered down at the blonde-headed boy in curiosity.

Justin just nodded. He only wanted to get out of here. He had struggled as soon as he felt the spells wearing off and it seemed like a miracle that nobody had come down the corridor while his freezing arse was still tied to the alcove. It was horrible enough, no need for anyone to see. And good thing, too, that Professor Hagrid hadn't been here earlier.

"'m okay," he mumbled, trotting along, trying to keep up with the large man's steps.
