Grump, growl, grrrrr!

So the ultrasound did not go well yesterday.  They're trying to tell me I have to lay down in bed (I can't even sit up in bed according to them) for the rest of my pregnancy, quit my job, and forego vaginal sex or any contact that will cause me to have an orgasm for the next 9 weeks!  R they out of their MINDS???  First of all, I don't see any of ( Read more... )

I am so sorry to hear that. It sucks how it works for some and not for others.

Hoping the best for you two (three).

It just always seems to work out for those who've done nothing to deserve it! Well, I guess it could be worse! I know that my baby is healthy and is large for his age, so his chances are very strong to not even need NICU at birth! I still count myself lucky!

I have been told the same thing for my last two pregnancies (my third and fourth child). For the third they actually put me in the hospital to ensure the bedrest for the last few months, but for the last I just couldn't be on bedrest and take care of my other kids regardless of what the doctor said and my pregnancy ended just fine on the scheduled date. I'm not saying not to take your doctor's advice but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. So just make sure you take it easy and I'm sure everything will be fine!

I'm still being careful and hoping for the best. Thanks for the advice though. It means a lot to have someone who understands what I'm going through.

You can never be too careful, but even when you are nothing is guaranteed. When they put me on bedrest in the hospital with my third child I stayed in that hospital bed for weeks before she was born, and even so she was still born early and stayed in the NICU for several weeks and came home on a heart monitor. With my last daughter they attempted to put me on hospital bedrest as well but I refused and just took it easy at home and she was born on time with no problems. So you never know, but should still take it very easy if you can't be on bedrest permanently until the baby comes. All of my children are happy and healthy now and as much as I love them all I am glad I finally got my tubes tied this time around! I would recommend waiting until your baby is at least a few months old until having a tubal though. I had mine right after my c-section with my last daughter and was sure about it at the time but even after all the problems I'd had with the previous two pregnancies I still found myself wanting another one after #4 was born and ( ... )

I am sure you will do the right thing for your baby. I am glad you found out now and not in the NICU. 9 weeks will go by before you know it. Afterall, it would be better to spend that time in bed rather than in the intensive care unit with your child poked with needles and attached breathing apparatus. It is no fun to sit outside the bubble and watch your baby fight for his life. Just my two cents.

Yeah, you're right. I've cut my hours drastically and am not doing any more 12 hr shifts. Wish me luck to hold out for about 4 more weeks! Anyway, I'll keep you updated on what's going on!
