Sorry to hear things have not been to fabulous for you recently. Is there any way you can put your place on hold for a year whilst you try and find funding/a place to live in London etc?

I've been a really crap lj-er for quite a while now and haven't given my flist (amongst other things) anywhere near the attention I should have, but I don't think I've seen anything from you for ages? In fact, I admit that on reading this post I had one of those "oh yeah, you're on my flist too!" moments.. sorry.
