Personality:
Throughout the series, many words are used to describe Haruna. She's a gossip, a manga-ka, a love master, and a good friend.

But mostly, focus on the first three things.

Haruna is noted for being skilled at spreading and sniffing out rumors. Mostly the spreading. It's said that she has the skill mastered to the point that she can spread a rumor from one side of campus to the other in other two hours.
This isn't hard to imagine, given what a nosy and goofy sort of girl she is. Paru is a smart girl and tends to put her talent towards observing people and then fishing around in their business. It is very rare that she has any malicious intent or that she intends to pull out everyone's darkest secrets and then spread them all around school, though. Rather, Haruna is simply curious. She may tease people about what she discovers and may reveal the secrets to close friends, but she does make a point to be mindful of how deep the secret is. The best example would be Nodoka and Yue's crushes on Negi. Haruna will flaunt this fact amoung close members of Nodoka and Yue's social circle and she may occasionally tease them and Negi, but she makes a point not to flat out disrespect something as pure as love... Her gossipy and rumor loving nature are playful and mostly harmless.

Keyword: Mostly. When Haruna wants to discover something then she will freaking discover it. When she realizes that her close friends Nodoka, Yue, and Konoka are keeping secrets from her (Negi's magic), Haruna goes full out in her attempts to get them to squeal. By "full out", I mean psychological torture and drawing a threatening manga page were she has them tied up and whips them.
But once again; she is playful in her attempts to get information.

Another key point to Haruna is that she is an aspiring manga-ka. As I just mentioned, she tends to use art to get her points across. Two times this occurs are when she threatens her friends with torture and when she draws a "BAD END... replay?" page when everyone is feeling like they're screwed. It is mentioned that pactio cards reflect the person they belong to, so the fact that Haruna's pactio is a magical sketchbook probably further emphasizes just how much art means to her character.
Manga shows a slightly more serious side to Haruna. She is very dedicated to her deadlines, for example, and abuses her pactio artifact and Evangeline's magic resort to help her meet the deadlines when she starts slacking. At the same time, her manga-ka duties demonstrate just how much Haruna exploits her new magical powers, as she shamelessly abuses it.

But that's because Haruna is excited about magic. She draws "mahou shoujo" manga so has drabbled with the concept of magic for a long time. Real life magic is something that Haruna accepts with open arms and a lot of kisses--- no, seriously. The moment that Haruna learns that kissing a 10-year old Negi will give her magical powers she shamelessly goes to make out with him. As opposed to some of the other girls, like Chisame, who are hesitant towards the idea of magic in their reality, Haruna gets really excited about it and is very accepting towards the idea. Possibly too accepting.

Her manga drawing also brings up the point that Haruna is an otaku. She is known to occasionally bring up manga scenarios and elements when making a point, or comparing things she experiences to manga. She comments on how some demons and golems aren't like mahou shoujo cutesy villains, for example. In the second anime adaption, Negima!?, this also seems to translate to Haruna being knowledgable about the super natural (namely, the Chupacabra). Haruna is also something of a pervert and is among the classmates supporting ideas like maid cafes and a "no panties cafe". She acknowledges that she has geeky tendencies and seems to be teasingly eager to event people to her geeky side of life, going as far as taking her friends to a comic convention and blowing their naveity with Boy Love comics.

Love. How has that word not come up in this application yet? Because Haruna favors herself as something of a matchmaking love guru. This first becomes apparent as she actively tries to help Nodoka and Yue with their love lives. She is quick to pin Konoka and Setsuna and lesbians and begin supporting them. No crush on Negi goes unnoticed or unbothered by Haruna. She claims to have a love radar and to be able to smell the "sweet rotten almond stick of love" coming off of people. While Haruna has a lot of respect and understanding for love and all of the troubles of the heart, she can't help but want to tease people in love.

But all of this is just Haruna being a goof. Definitely, she is a goofy comic-relief sort of person. But when push comes to shove, Paru can be serious.
When battles come up in the manga, Haruna will greet them with a smile, some jokes, but all of her effort and quick thinking. Her abilities are very helpful in the School Festival arc as she comes up with various plans for getting through tough scenarios and puts her best effort towards accomplishing them. She trains very hard during the interlude betweens arcs and is able to bring her abilities up to par with the girls who have been practicing for quite some time.

She's also a very caring friend. When she recognizes the love triangle between Yue and Nodoka she is much less gossipy at first. There is a clear shift in her attitude when she recognizes the serious situation and how much it can potentially hurt her two best friends and attempts to comfort Yue in a much softer way than her usual teasing slap on the back. When her friends are in trouble her happy-go-lucky goofy grins snap away and she gets quite upset.
On a less serious note, Haruna is also a shamelessly happy glue that constantly drags anti-social characters, like Chisame, towards the group. She seems to really like the idea of being a team and can be very obnoxious about keeping the team together. If she sees someone that needs help becoming social, Haruna the crazy and annoying social butterfly will yank them into her social circle. And without much shame.

And she seems to be completely aware of how annoying she can be. But really, to Haruna, everything boils down to fun, friendship, and lot of gossip. She will likely be found sticking her nose in other people's business and trying to force her way into every social circle. At the core, she really is a nice person... you just probably have to put up with her whacky side for a while in order to realize it.

Abilities: Haruna gains a magical artifact called "Imperium Grapices" which is one of the most abused artifacts in the series. What starts as a seemingly innocent and simple ability to turn her drawings into living mini golems quickly evolves into an abused super power.

Paru can create small golems with her artifact. Their existences are initially timed and don't last long before they seem to melt, but Haruna quickly masters her artifact and begins to discover its many abilities. For example, if she writes guidelines on the side of a drawing then she can dictate its personality. She does this to make a "Dark Nodoka" golem that looks like Nodoka but has a twisted personality. She was even planning to make an "Erotic Nodoka".

Her golems can have varying purposes and abilities and she can decide them by putting notes in the margins of her art. She makes a flying golem and gives Nodoka a way to control it this way. She also makes a golem that creates fake wings for Asuna, but it doesn't last long.

She also uses the artifact to clone herself, creating a dozen or so Harunas who are all working on different pages of her manga--- so she can make a deadline.
At one point, she creates tentacle-length hands to capture Nodoka and Yue when they try to run away.

... Over all, Haruna is very good at using her artifact because she spams it so much and gets so much practice.

Heyyyy there everyone! ♥ Okay, I'll cut right to the chase here! I've gotten a pretty good grip on this whole Mayfield thing and I've just got one rrreally important question to ask everyone~!

Who here has the hots for Negi-sensei? C'mon, don't be shy! Statistics have proven that nearly every girl that meets our little shota sensei falls for him at some point or another! I mean, it means you're gonna have quite a couple rivals, but hey! All's fair in a war of love, right?

... and actually, I have two things to bring up! Second!
Chiu Chiu~ How's the idol business going? You know, "No Pantsu" cafes haven't been outlawed yet, so now would be a great time to debut at Chiu and introduce the people of Mayfield to some great culture~~.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
