I ordered the Chick Sampler (about 50 or so Chick Tacts to help you decide which ones to order) back in High School so I could read them, but I hadn't seen the D&D one. Brent and I wrote songs about some including "Room 310" and one about Halloween

I'm sure Mr. Chick's intentions are in the right place, but his tracts are probably responsible for 90% of the emotional childhood trauma that occurred in the 80's. And, like you said, anyone else who wasn't traumatized was probably just intrigued by the whole idea of the evil parallel universe where only cool things happen - I mean, that pentagram-embellished occultist's lair where Elfstar was initiated did look pretty awesome.

It's total fetishism of the unknown. That's the wonderful thing about religious extremism - it walks that fine line between absolute moral discipline and utter insanity.
