[ The feed flickers on and suddenly there's the Black Lake and a high-pitched squeal and a girl with flailing limbs. The girl, as it turns out, is scrambling out of the ice cold lake as though it were boiling oil, soaking wet and crawl-stumbling her way up the green before -- "Oh--!" -- she stops and grabs the commuter from its resting place

[He's still up in his tree, legs swinging as he watches her flail about.]

Oh! [ Surprise nearly throws her out of the tree this time ] I-- [ She yanks at a bit hair caught in the fork of a branch and, subsequently, falls onto her back. ] I knew it looked like squid! Mother made that once for dinner.

But... [ she sits up and wrinkles her nose ] Why is in the lake? Isn't it... isn't it dangerous?

Doesn't seem to be. Then again I haven't gone swimming, so who knows.

[He shrugs, shooting her a curious look.]

Are you that worried about it?

[ There's another sheepish laugh. A shrug. ] It's not that. I've just... never been outside before. So I need to be careful. There is danger everywhere.

[Conan had been out exploring the grounds once more as he thought about the situation. He pauses and fights the urge to just quit and go back inside. Maybe read a mystery novel where everything made sense. And dealing with girls with ridiculous amounts of hair wasn't needed.]

[lumenarie]

Oh... [ She gives another sheepish laugh and waves in the direction of the voice as the hammock rotates. ] Oh, no. No thank you. I'm.. [ wrestling a bit mooore... ] I'm fine. Sorry to-- Sorry if I, um, bothered you!

It's just a lot. All this. I'm... not really used to so much.

Alois says the giant squid here eat people. [ HMM. ]

Your name is Rapunzel? [Well if people could be pulled from different time periods, why not fairytales? And who said fairytales didn't have truth held in them? Or maybe her parents liked the name and she just ended up with a lot of hair...

Yeaaah... That's-- That's my thing. I guess. Hair. Heh. [ Her laugh is a little diffident, but she's not as uncomfortable as she was in the lake with the bloody giant squid. A plus. ]

Woah, woah, woah! [ WARNING BELLS. Her hands fly immediately to her head and she narrows her eyes. ] What. Do you want with my hair, Mister... um. Shoot. Mister... YOU! What do you want with my hair, you?

[He's unsure whether to be alarmed or fascinated by the girl's sheer amount of hair, but he's willing to set aside any comments about it for now. Seeing someone going for a swim in the winter seems even odder when he can barely stand to be outside.]

What were you in the lake for?

[ And this question has the quite successful side-effect of distracting Rapunzel from the doubt and fear and I-don't-know-you-factor. She smiles, and when she does, there's nothing of uncertainty in it. ]

I saw it from the window after I woke up and I just... It was so beautiful and...and... and amazing! It's the biggest body of water I've ever seen, and I've never seen anything like it. Feeling the water? I-It was incredible! Like when you take bath in the winter and the water's still and cold.

Anyway. [ Embarrassed, she tucks a bit of hair behind her ear and shrugs. ] I guess I just needed to be outside. Before this I'd... I'd never been outside.

[How did she live? Hood up or not, his ear perk up in his surprise, and he does look a bit concerned to hear that... he might be feeling a bit silly, too, letting snow keep him cooped up as he's been.]

Well - it is a nice lake to look at. I haven't gotten close to it yet, but since anyone can visit it if they like, it's probably safe... though, there are warmer places to bathe.

Nope! Never. I haven't really explored much of the castle yet... But I can't wait to see it. You must love it here. [ She smiles again and swings a bit in the hammock, tilting her head. ] So do you not like water?
