So I got an e-mail from the Syracuse Financial Aid office today. It told me all about how to access my portfolio and see how much debt I will accumulate. Potentially. When I went to grad school at Ohio University, I was offered an assistantship before I had been admitted. Apparently, the department office processed me as an ACCEPTED and then passed my file on to a couple of offices looking to hire a GA. One office contacted me before the acceptance letter arrived in the mail. When she called to offer me the position, I said I didn't know if I was in yet. She figured I was since she'd been given my file, but she checked w/ the department chair just in case. He assured her I was in, I accepted the spot in the program and the assistantship.

There are so many wires to cross... hopefully hearing from FA will indicate that you got in to one of the programs you applied to. :) Good luck!

But I wanna know noooooooowwwwww. Sorry. I'm sure you get enough whining at your 9 to 5. Actually, it would be nice to get a couple of GA offers, especially if they came in ahead of the letter. But you're right about the wires. Just following the various links in that one e-mail took me all over the virtual campus and I feel less informed than when I started.

Now I remember why I put off this process for so long.
