Coins?

Hey gang,
Where can I find some half-dollar or bigger coins for coin work? I stopped by my bank and the lady I talked with said she didn't have any.

Check back with bank later.

Also, keep an eye out for them when you go to stores, especially convenience stores, or even supermarkets. Half dollars are no longer minted for circulation, but they are out there. Often shop keepers are glad to get of them because they are unusual.

Larger coins, like the old (I hate saying that!) Eisenhower dollars are going to be a bit more troublesome. They do surface from time to time, but if you want them NOW you can start trolling eBay to see if someone is dumping them for just a bit over face value. Word to the wise, don't let anyone tell you the regular issue Ike dollars are rare. They aren't. They are worth a dollar; maybe a bit more. But if you are pushing $1.50 each, that's getting expensive.

Coin stores, different banks, even some gas stations.

Never thought of gas stations. There are some coin shops around our art district. Although they mostly tend to be overpriced, you might find a few decent pieces.
