When you pray, if you pray, what kind of being do you see? Does s/he have a name?I was out in "my church" this morning. The sun breaking through, the birds waking up. I saw two chasing each other through the trees...beautiful sound, their wings beating on the wet leaves of the trees. I looked up and asked for rain again today ( Read more... )

We must go to the same "church." I completely understand that feeling of knowing someone is listening somewhere. :) I also don't know what to call it. :)

It appears as we do! It is comforting to know that someone is listening...somewhere.

I have a nice quote on my screen saver: "My mind is my own church." ~~ Thomas Paine.

Hi, I was just poking around the journals of people that had commented over at jay!'s and saw this.

As you've probably gathered, I believe in God and Jesus Christ and the relationship that the two have with the people here on earth. That said, when I pray, I don't really picture a being. I'm more interested in the energy of prayer, the way it calms and focuses me. The way it helps me organize my thoughts and in a way remove them from myself. I pray for all kinds of things: rain, luck, patience, parking spaces... I think all kinds of prayer are valid and useful, but I think the difference could be (not saying it is) is that I am as sure as I can be that someone is indeed listening.

*waves* Hi there!

See- what you have said only strengthens the belief of mine (and others) that we are all connected. We essentially believe in the same thing, just that we put different labels on it.

Thanks for posting!
