Watch some more Pixar-style things. Like Bolt. :)

You know, I'd like to watch something not completely recreational. Something thought-provoking or inspiring. I am not sure Bolt will work this way.

you can find inspiration in the dumbest of places if you try.
besides, Bolt is cute!

Hm... you might be right about sources of inspiration, bt if I have a choice I'd still try something not completely dumb. Bolt's cuteness does not sound as a very convincing reason for me. Love you.

"dogville" - not for the faint of heart.
repeat: NOT for the faint of heart.
but it does provoke quite a few thoughts.
mostly sad ones...

my own favorites: Amadeus, Kieślowski (I like almost all of his stuff, but Decalog is perhaps the most serious/deep).
There are a few great old Israeli comedies by Efraim Kishon (best probably Sallah, and Blaumlich Canal); his books are also fun. An Israeli old comedy bonus: Halfon Hill Does NOt Answer.

oh, also The Lives of Others, if you have not seen it yet.
D.M. had a few other good recommendations (Gloomy Sunday, Black Book)

I liked that one, too.

Haven't seen good movie for a while now. Bookwise can recommend "Boris Pasternak" by Dm. Bykov.

James Clavell's "Shogun" (if you can handle a 600-page historic-fiction novel) and/or "Tai-pan".

"No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith.

"День выборов" смотрела? На вашем сервере он есть.
