001. Accidental Voice/Action

[When Lindsay wakes up, the first thing she's aware of - other than the ache behind her shoulders - is that she's lying on the ground. At first, this doesn't really register as abnormal; it's not the first time she's fallen asleep on the ground, though part of her, in a dazed, not-fully-concious way, wonders who the heck stole her bedroll. [It's the second day of the month, if the last calculation was accurate then New Feathers should start appearing soon but Ikki doesn't particularly care about that. The place is full with people who would jump at the task of helping newcomers after all and he's sure any of them are better hosts than what he could be.

Of course he's not one to turn around on an obvious New Feather when he notices her energy nearby. Not that he needs that to know, that shriek was pretty loud and close by. Ikki walks towards the source, accompanied by his wolf cub which quickly moves to sniff at the cat.]

Is it too soon to expect you to stop panicking?

[Lindsay, who'd dropped down to her knees, one hand reaching back over her shoulder as she tries to see and touch her wings - wings - jerks her head up to stare at the newcomer.]

Wh-who are you?

[Unfortunately, she most decidedly is panicking. She's all alone right now. All alone. If... if something's wrong then there's nobody to help her nobody to take care of her and... and...

Thylos, for his part, eyeing this new person warily, even stiffly allowing the wolf cub to sniff. He's not disposed to any defensive reactions yet - who knew, this person might actually be friendly.]

[He can see that she doesn't seem to have any intention to stop panicking anytime soon. Guess it's too much to ask for people to keep their cool in those situations.]

H-huh?

[It took a while for his words to filter through the panic set around her mind. Thylos did his bit to help, rubbing his head against her side. She glanced over at him and knew what he meant. Calm down, he seems okay.

She's still shaking, still terrified and confused but at least she's less apt to completely freak out.]

Lindsay.

[A new person? But... No, it sounds like she's been here before. Her message is still confusing, so Luke opens his mouth to try asking who she is and if she's been here before -

When that shriek makes him give a yelp of his own. Ack, girl screaming, what's going on, alskdfj he holds out his hands to the journal, as if he's trying to placate it.]

H-Hey, it - it's okay! What - Where are you, what's wrong?!

[Logic is not entirely processing right now. She'll question where the voice is coming from in a moment.]

I-I have wings! Why do I have wings?!

[Well... If she doesn't remember the wings, then maybe she hasn't been here before. He can't imagine someone forgetting the wing part of the village if they had.

He still keeps his hands up, though his voice loses its edge of panic and goes for a more soothing, though reinforcing tone.]

All of us have them! That's... That's what happens when you arrive in Luceti. [Making sure to say the name there...]

[Using the name was a good tactic. It's enough to draw her attention away from trying to poke at her wings, see if they were real and not just... some absurd thing glued to her back or something, even though the pain itself belied that.]

L-luceti? But... how...

[Voice]

[The feed makes no sense but Luka can understand that, when she arrived she wasn't the most coherent person out there. Even if it sounds as if this girl knows the place, she's still scared and Luka wonders if she has met a monster like she did when she arrived.]

A-Are you okay?!

[She feels stupid but she can't do much, can she?]

[Her voice is shaking. She's trying to keep calm and failing utterly miserably. She... doesn't even know what to think right now. Otherworld had done a lot of strange things, yes, but it'd never done anything like give one of them wings]

I-I don't... I don't know what's going on...

[Luka hums, she herself isn't sure she knows much about Luceti, it's just all so strange...But she wants to help and as little as she may know she knows more than this girl, so she should share it. At least it doesn't seem as if the girl is in danger.]

I-it's okay, that's... That's normal if you just arrived. Uhm, th-this will sound strange but you've been kidnapped and taken to a-another world. T-This isn't a dream.

[This sounds really, really familiar.]

I-I know it's not.

[It wasn't last time, why should it be this? But... where was that voice coming from. She glances around shakily]

[ Oh dear this is rather troublesome. Helios sounds concerned and his tone is comforting as possible. The jarring realization of being brought somewhere entirely different doesn't sit well for many. So he understands Lindsay's panic. He'll try to be as helpful as possible though. ] It's all right, miss. I-I know it's confusing and frightening, but there's people here to help you. [ A pause. ]

This, this is Luceti. It's-it's another world separate from your own.

[There's a lot of panic whirling around her head right now... and it makes clear and rational thought fairly difficult. Her breathing's fast, shaky, almost hyperventilating and she barely realizes it.

A lot of what Helios says doesn't really register, even though the tone does help a little bit. Something that does catch her attention though, is the name. And a different world. She was right, this... this place wasn't home, but...]

L-luceti?

Ah, Yes it's-it's strange I-I know. But don't worry. You're safe. There's a village nearby that you can find a suitable place to stay. And everything you need is provided there.

[ He doesn't want to make her panic more though, so he pauses in his explanation. ] If, if you want. I could possibly help you back to the village. There's a stream that one can follow too.

[This is Luceti. Luceti, not Otherworld. Or was Luceti a town? but she wasn't in a town. Or village. This person - whoever he was - said he could help her find the village? Where was this person anyway?]

[This? This is why we patrol for New Feathers. Specifically why Lina patrols for New Feathers.

She lands lightly on a tree branch a few feet behind Lindsay, watching idly as the girl goes through the necessary steps of freaking out that seem to be required of all New Feathers. Lindsay might catch sight of her while she's trying to get a good look at the wings, at which point the sorceress will smile broadly and give a wave.]

[Not just looking, reaching a little with shaking hands, trying to feel them. Were they really real? But... how...? Otherworld had done all kinds of strange things, but... giving people wings was not one of them...

Thylos does notice, a meow in Lina's direction alerts Lindsay and she glances up, flipping around so that she was facing her.]

Wh-who are you?

[She watches Lina nervously. The greeting was friendly enough, but... she still doesn't know what's going on.]
