What's it to ya?!!!?????

So, partly in response to political and cultural updates coming from the direction of fallentoad, I am putting out a general request for ideas on WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS MESS. They can be hairbrained or brilliant (or both, of course), but they have to go beyond just educating the public and snarking among ourselves. Let's hear 'em.

so i've been asking a friend of mine
for as long as i've known him he has been
a political activist, working to make a change
so i ask him why aren't people starting a resistance
he says nintendo, american idol etc
we can still be comfortable amidst this craziness
so i ask him what can we do about it
he says meet your neighbors
talk about things, be kind to people
the Dali Lama says don't worry about
the leaders just raise your kids good and
someday our leaders will reflect that
sanity, healthiness

i know this may sound like a cop out but i don't have
any better ideas than just doing my best for now

I try to be aware about what's going on
try to keep a level head and not get discouraged
and do my best
you have any ideas?

none that don't involve some kind of horrible disaster down the line.....but you know, I've been more and more interested in political solutions in combination with the spiitual ones. The trouble is that by the time I get an understanding of the issues, think up policy alternatives that might make this country a less brutal place, and come up with a plan to put it into action, the avenues of Democracy will likely be closed and the reign of facism will be official. It's tough..and it's very piecemeal
