Don cracked his neck as he got off the elevator. He was stiff and a bit sore from a restless night. He needed coffee and he needed it now. Luckily enough, there was still some left in the pot. Creamer in, he sucked the stirrer once before tossing it in the trash.

Making his way to his cubicle in the bullpen, Don started up his computer. He felt jittery and anxious, like something was about to happen, as he logged into the FBI’s system. Nothing of importance called for his immediate attention as they’d wrapped up a case yesterday; he could see Liz and Nikki working on finishing the last bit of paperwork.

A bright splash of orange caught his gaze and Don snatched the Post-it from the monitor’s corner. In his brother’s scrawl was ‘Solar Eclipse today.’ He vaguely remembered Larry getting really excited a couple days ago about the anticipated astrological event scheduled for noon.

His cell phone ringing pushed aside any more thoughts what the sun was going to do. One case closed and another one opened.

Don grabbed his suit jacket and hoped, as he walked back to the elevators, that this shaky feeling would leave.
