Don opened the garage door and closed it quickly, leaving Charlie inside to his chalkboards. The call he’d received on his cell phone had him walking down the driveway towards the car that was parked on the curb.

Megan met him halfway, a smile on her face and her green eyes alive with an inner light.

“What’s going on? Did something happen with Sylar?” He asked.

She shook her head, hair trailing over her shoulders. “No. Sylar’s gone. He’s our problem now.”

He frowned. “Oh.” Then why had she come out here? Unless to say goodbye, he guessed. “Then you’re leaving?”

Her face turned out a sad half smile. “I am. Noah needs me and while Sylar’s gone here, he’s still not gone period. Someone’s got to chase him down,” she touched his arm briefly. “But that doesn’t mean you can’t call if you need me. Any questions or problems, I’ll answer.”

Don laughed. “That’s good. I’m having a hard time adjusting and my brother’s trying to use math to explain it all.”

A real smile again. “Well, there’s a doctor in New York who might be able to explain things to you and your brother. His name is Mohinder Suresh. He’s the leading guy on all of us.”

Don committed the name to memory to pass along later.

Megan turned to look over her shoulder to a man that was now leaning against the car. Her next words were apprehensive and persuasive. “I’m going away and Noah wants you to forget.”

“What do you-”

“It’s standard procedure. Tag you and erase your memory. I don’t want to do that. Do you trust me?” She asked.

He stared at her, unsure. The look in her eyes was honest though and she had saved his life earlier.

Don nodded.

The dark skinned man approached.
