Posting challenge 4/15: Still easing into 2016

Jan 19, 2016 18:14

I'm not sure how it got to be mid January, flist. Perhaps because December and early January were so warm, I didn't really believe it was winter? In any case, the universe has been conspiring to correct me before I got too comfortable: the temps are down around 20F/-7C right now, a winter storm is on its way, and I just had my first class of the ( Read more... )

Love your bedding, it's so cheerful! I wish we had an IKEA close by, but I'd probably spend way too much money there. I do love their kitchenware. :)

Isn't the orange cheerful? Ikea's textiles are so seductive. I was so happy to be nearby for a few weeks. (I can see the temptation if it were more accessible, though!) M.

I admit it, I have never understood running as a recreation. I used to be quite good at it over distances less than 200 meters. 15 or more years ago. Now I wouldn't run from a Grizzly Bear, the bear would do less damage.

However, I wish you joy and warm ears of your running.

Oh my word, Lash, not recreation at all! Not for me, at least--I'm miserable the whole time, but I'm getting the exercise the doctor ordered and getting outdoors, which doesn't happen often enough.

Hmm.."quite good at distances less than 200 meters?" I'm intrigued...

Thank you! M.

Those colors are great! And I love redecorating. I don't often actually do it, but I get excited even like this when it is actually other people doing it! :)

It was a tiny little redecorating episode, wasn't it? I love houses in general and, like you, love talking to friends about what they're doing with their apartments and thinking about the options--even if they're not likely to happen any time soon. I'm also fascinated by Idea's 300 square foot and 400 square foot apartment--I love seeing how they make good use of space.

Thanks, G! M.

I'm so glad you had a relaxing time in Brooklyn! It's fun to get an extended change of scenery every so often.

IKEA! I love it so, but haven't been inside once since 2000. There are none here in Maine. NONE. The closest is south of Boston. I keep saying I want to take a road trip down there. I ache for more of their bookcases. Shipping is just outrageous though, so it's either road trip or lusting from afar. I do love the bedding you got!

The change of scenery is surprisingly effective, isn't it? I love my own neighborhood, but it was fun to be somewhere else.

I love how folks generally know how far they are from an Ikea, even if the closest one is too far to be a practical option. :) Wish yours were closer.

Thanks on the bedding! It still makes me smile, several weeks later. M.

I feel all virtuous now for not doing consumerism and buying headbands. Of course, the main reason is I don't do running, and my recliner is of the Victorian wing-type, so my ears stay warm anyhow.

I love the warm colours of the Ikea purchases. It's such a fun store!

Are the colors lovely? Ikea is really on when it's on.

I'm so not a runner, TRS. I'm getting exercise, as the doctor ordered, and seeing the sun more than usual. Given a choice, though, I'd take a recliner any day!

I like the image of you in a Victorian winged recliner. What a stylish chair! M.
