There's a poster on TrekBBS from Vancouver who started a thread about the weather they're having. I posted a silly comment along the lines of "do you want us to send you the army?" but so far nobody's responded - not even the Vancouverite who likes to razz me about when Mel Lastman called them in a few years ago. (He also razzes me about being a Leafs fan - I think he has Toronto envy, to be honest. ;) )
They forcasted an inch of snow once when I was a kid, and the grocery store was COMPLETELY out of bread, milk, and eggs for the next couple of days. No joke.
No one can bloody well drive in the RAIN, Lyn, and you want them to handle FROZEN rain? Oh, hell no! Here, they're like, "ZOMG! PRECIPITATION! WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! SAVE THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN!"
OTOH, we have a lot of steep hills around here, too -- with the complete lack of practise we get with ice and snow generally, steep hills can be very dangerous here for a lot of drivers. People here are not taught how to drive in the snow; we don't get enough of it.
Those are both very valid point, my dear... the hills are just treacherous without snow. ;)
But things were still cancelled and whatnot today as well... and tomorrow now too with the *chance* of another system.. Mind you, I'm in Bellevue, and we get bypassed by the worst of the stuff it seems.
*love to her friendly sane Washingtonians...who know how to drive cautiously*
We had a beautiful day of 56 degrees. Very much like spring. XD I almost miss snow, but I think I can wait another week to see it. It just better get here before Christmas. >_> Last year Christmas was not very snowy, which was sad.
