Pre-movie Kaylee, at least. She was kind of cynical and a bit snarky in the movie. Not that she hadn't earned it, but still...

I probably shouldn't go into the drawing-Runaways-as-Firefly-cast thing I've been doing since Whedon announced he was picking up the title...but it works!

Hm, I wasn't even thinking of personality but you're right. I haven't seen the movie yet. My brother didn't want to while he was over, though I'm curious who dies and about the Reavers.

Runaways as Firefly cast, hm... So, Molly would be Kaylee. Zoe and Wash would be Gert and Chase, who else...

Actually we figured it like this, based more on personality and less on cast-relationships:

Nico: Mal (belaugered leader)
Zoe: Xavin (think about it, it works)
Wash: Chase (snarky pilot!)
Inara: Karolina (peacemaker, classy chick...less on the space-whore bit, though)
Kaylee: Molly (a given)
Simon: Victor (Sweet geek!)
Jayne: Old Lace (killing machine that you oddly want to snuggle...also, a dinosaur with a hat and Vera is comedy gold)
Book: Gert (by default, although it makes sense, with him being the non-combatant voice of reason that calms Jayne a lot)

Nobody really fit River, so I'm just skipping that bit.

*keeps mouth shut about deaths*
