Starscream couldn't stop smiling at his pretty little winglet. All white and gold, and he was only a little surprised by the coloring. Neither he nor Mirage had any gold about them at all... "It skips, sometimes," he explained to Mirage, even though the Autobot hadn't asked. No one had asked... "My co-creator's secondary color was gold. His primary was red, of course, and my other co-creator was blue and red, a lot like TC, actually. My creator was white, off-white, and blue... Anyway." It didn't really matter, did it?
"My brother was gold. Gold and yellow and cream. Any one of those colors is rare, and for all three... he was gorgeous!" He had been, all shinning in the sun... "My beautiful brother..."
"Star...?" Skywarp asked questioningly, stepping forward. A sharp look and hiss from Starscream deterred him, and he stepped back again, into Soundwave's arms.
"I don't know who it was or when... he got caught, and when he got free... He was in agony. Melting everything that got too close, melting himself. I killed him. Shot him. We half hoped it would stop the melting... it stopped his self-repair instead. He thanked me for it..." Starscream's smile was sad as he ran his finger down the winglet's face.
"Starscream...?" It was Mirage this time, and he was allowed to approach, kneeling by the Seeker and joining him in stroking their winglet.
"I want... May it be named Suncry? It's close enough that..."
"I know." Mirage knew who Starscream was referring to... he had terrorized the Autobots, showing up one day... Mirage knew enough not to judge, not any more. So much was different now... "Suncry. It's a beautiful name."
