So, leaving UAB was good, but job-hunting isn't very fun. I don't think I would have problems if I a) didn't somehow like an abundance of freetime and b) wasn't a procrastinator. My former amusement with OddTodd has become all too real ( Read more... )

Loki (with an "i," he mews =) ) is very good. Only one of his favorite pasttimes has become swatting at drink glasses and knocking them over for the ice ... which is a problem!

things i've done to make myself look like a very busy and important person since graduation and while looking for a job:

- sold cheap, marine life (reefs) exploiting jewelry to tourists (not in waikiki though, which would have been a step up). shucking oysters for pearls.
- volunteering at an elementary school and telling people when they ask about my job that i'm a "reading teacher."
- hah! i went to several society of childrens book writers and illustrators seminars for the coffee and croissants! well, that and i have a crush on buddy bess of bess press books...he's a cute ol'fuddy.

was the greek food any good?

The children's book writers seminar sounds really neat. I'm sure you'll find your niche and hopefully it will be a well-paying one. Or else you can head back to school and try and make one there- which will probably always be our safehaven provided we have the money and time!

The Greek food was not bad at all. Only, people, no matter how old it seems (or how well paid!), become insatiable around free food. So it was a bit picked over when I arrived, but what I got was good. =)

oh my good god....
i would just like to remind you it's been since BEFORE MY 22nd BIRTHDAY that you have updated your LJ, woman! that is INSANITY!!!

on another note, i was looking at your interests section, which i rarely ever do but for some reason felt the urge to do just now, and i couldn't help but notice the presence of "oil painting" and "temptation island." do you oil paint?? and, did you actually like that show? my gosh. lol. i couldn't stand it!! on the other hand, i do like reality shows in general (despite my better judgment) and was indeed a fan of the 1st Survivor and The Real Gilligan's Island, tee hee. :)

so... do you still want to get together tuesday? i was thinking Taboo and dinner at my place...maybe a potluck-type thing? we can make something, and you guys can bring something over? we've got wine, that's for sure, heh heh. :) lemme know whatcha think! hope you guys are having a blast now that the d-meister is a bonafide resident of good ole b'ham!!! woo, go b'ham!
