So, dancing is fun.  I asked Mike to give me more classes.  I'm really looking forward to that, if it works out in my favor.  I love teaching.  We'll see what happens.  I feel like I am so much better than I was.  I finally feel like my dancing and leading is improving ( Read more... )

Well, I wasn't trying to make a big deal about it. Things frustrate me and I wish more people thought like you. "It's dancing; it's fun; have fun with it and stop being a baby." I was talking to Aaron about some of the competitive crap on Saturday and it really shows, if you know where to to look. Thanks.

followers have to compete because there is more of us, since there are less leaders they get put in more routines, and the more routines peole are in the more fun they have, so if the followers want to be in more routins then they have to work to be better than the other followers.. and then there are some followers who just like to be in the spotlight and want to be in every possible routine to fufull said desire..O.o

annd Mike tends to favourite the eople who dance well..soooo everyone likes to be favorited at some point.. oo its just one of those things...

I know. I'm just referring to the people who get pissed off at any one else who gets attention. It's one thing to be competitive, but I think people should support their fellow teammates when they advance.

Just to be the odd man out and make an rguement of it. AAALLL the people in the studio need to realize that they're not as great as they think they are. You have a cloud too you know.... And Amanda... OMG... I can't even begin on how badly she tries to hog the spotlight. Anyway, I'm not in troupe anymore for all these reasoms. I love my friends and I can hang with them any time. I don't need dance to do that. I'd rather go to a more adult place where I can find more diversity and less drama and favroitism. There are people in that studio who do suck A LOT. But there's no one in that studio who is really great.

P.S. Except Aaron and Laura cause they rock and um... they're awesome friends.

I don't know if you mean that people's dancing aren't that great, or if you mean that the people aren't that great in general. Either way, you're wrong. As far as dancing goes, you don't have any right to say who's good and who isn't, or who has a "cloud." As far as personality, those are some of my best friends you are insulting, so watch it.

See, you say the followers are super competitive, which I agree with in general, but I don't think there are as many as you think there are. Yeah it's a problem but not a as far as number of people who do it, but to the extent that the followers compete. And you asked why follower's can't be like Daniel, Reece, Matt and you, but as I recall, you have had your competitions with each other for the spotlight also. I've literally had leaders tell me that they know the main reason for them moving up the way they did was because so many leaders left. So I think if you guys had more competition (i.e. more leaders) it would be an issue with guys also. Just a thought. It's not necessarily bad, it's human nature, it just all depends on why you are competing for the spot, and how you go about doing it. I do agree though, people need to accept where they stand as a dancer, and then they can realize what they need to work on. You're a great teacher Jason, and people who think they are too good to learn from you need to deflate their big egos.
