*chortles* Seriously. I giggle everytime I reach the part with Sir Rhys' yellow breeches. I didn't catch the reference to Sir Percival's wife when I read this the first time, so thanks for pointing that out. (But Percy's mine! *wails* Oh alright, Lady Fleur can have him. I don't wanna stand in the way of true love. *is magnanimous*) Also, Percy's right to be afraid. Be very afraid ahaha!

Percy has plenty of love to go around, I'm sure ;) Even if he would be rather shocked to have anyone fighting over him :D :D

Aww thanks for commenting again on this one! And for the original prompt of course. Yes, Sir Rhys has never forgotten the yellow breeches incident, and he totally suspects Merlin, he just has to make sure he saves his glares for when Arthur isn't looking. Sometimes, when Merlin sees something especially yellow, he gets very nostalgic, which just confirms Rhys' suspicions even more.

Perfect ending, I love the very (un)subtle MerlinxArthur-ness and the canon het!pairing. Lovely fic, lovely Percy as usual and shirtless Arthur? *swoons*

Oddly enough, Arthur's shirt was never found again and he was forced to walk back to the castle in just his breeches. Thankfully he had all the ladies to accompany him, in case he caught a chill and needed help. Merlin felt unaccountably grumpy the whole time ;)

I'm glad the A/M-ness came through anyway, even though Arthur wasn't actually in this one. Sometimes I find it more fun when Arthur isn't there to witness Percy and Merlin's conversations, just to see what Merlin will come out with next :D :D Thanks for commenting!!

I so want to have a snippet of the Sir Rhys' yellow breeches incident!
I loved this fic and I love Sir Percy! and your Merlin (and Arthur) characterisation is always fantastic! Thanks for posting! :)

The whole unfortunate incident came about when Merlin developed a horrible cold before the annual hunt, and Sir Rhys was heard to loudly comment that it was doubtless just an allergy to work. I'm afraid things escalated from there ;)

Thanks so much! I can never quite abandon Sir Percy, I enjoy writing his Arthur/Merlin POV far too much :D

I always love Percy stories, esp. with the way you write Merlin and Arthur. They are just so funny together.

OMG, I'm sorry, who's Percy? I need to know before I read this.

Oops! Sorry, I should have put an intro bit in - I was reposting this stupidly late last night and totally forgot. Percy is an OC of sorts, he's based on the Sir Percival of legend but I made a lot of the rest up. He comes to court and makes friends with Merlin and provides an outside POV on the whole Merlin/Arthur friendship (and hints of more, of course), and he has a rubbish warhorse called Brutus, and an overbearing father called Lord Wyldon, and Isolda is his sister. I think all you need to know about him is that he's a bit hapless, but he does try very hard, bless him :D

(There is a whole series of fics with him, the first is Route to Advancement - http://magog-83.livejournal.com/1774.html - if you wanted to see what he's like and how he met Merlin in the first place).

Oh, I didn't know if he was a character on the show that I'd missed, or someone from Arthurian legend, or an OC. Sounds interesting - I like the idea of outsider POV on Merlin/Arthur. Thanks for the link.

No, he's just a random OC of mine :D (I wouldn't want him to be in the show because he'd probably be a red cloak and die in the first five minutes of the episode). I'll add a quick explanation to the Author's Notes later, so people aren't horribly confused.
