There was a connection between them before that I miss; now they are IMO closer to strangers who are brought together by a great destiny, but otherwise live their lives (or lies?) each almost completely separately.
So thank you. (And I'm not even too fond of M/G, but this was great to satisfy my craving for a more sensible, friendly relationship in the show. :))

I am glad that there are still Merlin/Gwen friendship scenes on the show, but it does feel like the friendship was more prominent in S1. It's like they're finding it hard to include friendship scenes between them post-S1. :(

I love the first one to bits. That scene seen thru Arthur's eyes is so adorable. Of course, Merlin isn't useless! Arthur needs to realize this in the show too.

+ of course i totally agree with you - i'll probably never be able to ship g/a, but gwen/merlin friendship makes my heart grow three sizes. i'm so happy they put a little bit of that back into the show, it felt they forgot all about it in season2 ...
