Yes! My favorite grandmother made it that way, but with apples. (My not-favorite grandmother made a cooked cranberry-orange relish, which I didn't like as well.)
So... I make a cranberry/apple/orange relish, substituting honey for sugar (about 1/3 cup maybe?), and using the grinder attachment on my mother's mixer (see icon). It's even better two or three days later, if you can keep it around that long.
ETA: Yikes. My icons have disappeared. Someone else posted that her images are all missing; there's some LJ maintenance going on. Hope they're not lost. Again, yikes!
Ah, they're back. (icons) (This one has my mixer in the background, though all you can really see are the bowls...)
Yeah, it's a 1946 Hamilton Beach, with grinder attachment and citrus juicer attachment. I'd love to have a nice sturdy KitchenAid with a dough hook, but would not give this one up for anything.

And dead easy if you have a grinder, and the motivation to make something tasty.

That looks like something my mother had, too, way back when.
I started using this recipe because I didn't want to be cooking it with little kids around.
