It looks like fire season has started up for the year again, sir! It's been so hot out- I'm surprised I haven't collapsed in my costume at work yet! I... got a little bit woozy this afternoon, but after some water I was up on my feet again ( Read more... )

Boy, sure is hot out there! Someone oughta invent a blue badger costume that's less stuffy.

That's weird about the coffee maker, pal. It did seem kinda old when I found it... You don't think it's haunted or anything do you? That would make me feel real bad!

Haunted? N-No way, sir! It was probably just a fluke! In fact, I think I do sort of remember moving it earlier that morning!

So you don't need to feel bad, sir!

You're working in a costume in this heat? Are they like, the kind with the little ACs in them? If not that's just nuts!

They don't have those in your costumes? Not even fans?

Oh boy. Hon', you're getting screwed, like, big time. I hope they're at least paying you a decent amount for walking around in that thing with not even so much as a fan in, like, over a hundred degree heat. You poor thing.

Jeez, what is wrong with employers these days?

Oh, it's quite brave of you to go out in your costume in that heat. I do hope you'll be all right, Ms. Byrde. Do be sure to stay hydrated!

The embassy is always kept rather cool in the summers (we're used to the more temperate Cohdopian climate), so if you'd like a refuge from the heat, please keep us in mind.

I do hope you enjoy your time at the pool. I've considered putting in a swimming pool of some kind at the embassy, but I'm not sure if that would be the most practical use of our funds.

You might want to invest in a coffee maker with an auto shut-off. It doesn't add too much to the price, and it's definitely worth it from a safety standpoint.

Also, when it's hot, it's easy enough to add ice to your morning coffee, and iced coffee is a refreshing way to start any day. I find it's best if you use an espresso blend.
