GENERAL
[Name:] Maggey Byrde
[Age:] 23
[Gender:] Female
[Marital Status:] Single
[Sexuality:] Straight
[Occupation:] The newest staff member of Gatewater Land, debuting as Bad Badger!
... She would have preferred the Pink Badger, but, it is what it is.
CONNECTIONS
[Family:]
Maggey comes from a very patient family, if nothing else. She was raised to make lemonade out of lemons, even... if you run out of sugar and have to substitute it with Splenda- and... even if the lemons turn out to be completely sour and no good for really making anything at all. Maybe tea would be a better option...
[Friends:]
Phoenix Wright: Wright has gotten Maggey out of not only one, but two supposed counts of murder. If that's not a good, reliable friend, Maggey doesn't know what is.
Maya Fey: Maggey is easily impressed and excited, and she practically feeds off of Maya's positive energy.
Dick Gumshoe: Maggey's relationship with Gumshoe has gone through a few ups and downs. Sadly for him, she remained completely unaware of his infatuation with her during her time dating Dustin Prince, but looked up to the detective in a completely professional manner. When she found herself in the courtroom once again her opinion of the man took a sharp nosedive when he was forced to give a rather devastating testimony against her. When all was said and done with that debacle though, she forgave him for coming to the rescue at the last moment.
Her liking for him grew even more so with the latest murder attempted to be pinned on her- in the office of Miles Edgeworth. This time around the good detective stood firmly in her court- and it didn't go unnoticed (even with her sparkling admiration of Edgeworth's performance).
[Enemies:]
Richard Wellington: Not only did he kill her boyfriend of six months, but then he tried pinning it on her. Maggey has enough of her own bad luck, without someone else imposing more on her.
On a more serious note, Wellington's actions made a much bigger hurt on her than others would in the future, with the loss of someone close and personal to her life. In the two years that have passed though, Maggey has (obviously) moved on- though a certain degree of bitterness still lingers.
Furio Tigre: Another person who tried to use her as a scapegoat- and on top of that, an even bigger jerk because he (got away with) impersonating someone she considers to be on friendly terms with.
Jacques Portsman: At this point, Maggey really doesn't consider these people to be enemies, per say. Just the kind of awful people who take advantage of the "little guys". Thankfully Edgeworth was able to see right through Portsman before any real damage had been done to her- but it was still a nasty shock to be accused of murder again. Also, thanks to him she has been able to add one more notch to her lost jobs belt.
[Other:]
Armstrong: Not her favorite pastime employer, to be sure, and the fact that he lied and further helped to try and incriminate her doesn't help matters much either. Still, he was in a load of trouble on his own, so she tries to be more sympathetic. She doesn't bare any particular ill will towards the woman.
Edgeworth: So cool! Like Gumshoe, Maggey has a lot of admiration for the prosecutor, that of which was boosted immensely when he saved her a new trip to the courtroom by putting an end to Jacques Portsman's lies right away.
CHARACTER
[General personality:]
For someone with such horrendous luck, Maggey is pretty far from pessimistic. She's long since accepted her sour luck, and pushes though the bad times with fierce determination! She does have her moments though, where all she can do is sigh and lament how awful, awful luck.
For all her failings with luck, Maggey works hard, and while she IS employed she puts her all into the position.
[Current Happenings:]
Currently, Maggey has landed a new job at Gatewater Land as the Bad Badger mascot. The pay is horrible, and the hours pretty miserable, but hey, it's a job and hopefully she can hold onto this one longer than a few months.
