Rent and Lemon-Aid....
(Insert every word to Rent here....) j/k. Just getting in from the movie though...as you'll read below..
Alrighty...so another relatively craptacular day with my automobile. I got up this morning already to go to school and the car doesn't start....joy.
So...I wake my cousin up and ask if he can drive me to school, which he does, upon which I borrow jumper cables from a friend of mine at school..and yes, I do plan on buying some very soon. Like tomorrow. It was great cuz tonight I had plans..long standing plans..and I figured i'd miss out on them as I was sans car....anyways, after school, call a friend to see if he can jump my car for me as we had plans anyways and he was coming down. He makes the detour to my place before intending to go christmas shoppin....we get the cars all hooked up, he gets in his car, starts the engine and gets out closing the door. His doors automatically lock. Now we have 2 dillemas, my car still isn't turning on fully, andhe's now locked himself out of his car, with it still running literally in the middle of the street. So, I go to get a coat hanger in the hopes of getting his door open, and come back to find that my neighbour has backed into his car trying to get out of the driveway. It just keeps getting better...so...my landlord comes home and proceeds to call BCAA to see if they'll come out...while we're sorting that out, my other neighbour pulls up and my landlord asks him if he has any ideas of how to fix things...his response "Yeah..don't park in front of my house." Turns out, the guy had seen my lights on last night and figured he wouldn't say anything to anyone as I shouldn't have parked in front of his house....interesting as it's street parking and kinda a free for all...Myl andlord and him had a rather nice discussion bout that....Was really glad she told him the things she did...So..by now I'm feeling a bit like crap as my friend is now missing out on his christmas shopping time, had his car backed into and quite a bit of the window trimming bent and what not while trying to break into his own car, all cuz I asked if he could detour to help me...wow..I felt and sorta still feel quite guilty bout the whole thing...well..i dunno if guilty's the right word...but..to have someoen go outta their way to help you then get completely messed around just by tryin to help someone out...that's hardly fair..
Anyhoo..so bout 15 min later or so the neighbour comes back out and calls BCAA for us...we proceed to wait around for bout an hour or so for them to get out there...the time was nice..and comfortable actually...but..was a long wait. So they get out, takes the guy bout 2 min and waa laa the doors open. During this...Justin took his battery outta his car and attached it to mine so that at least we could jump my car while waiting for BCAA...I never knew that a car could run with it's battery taken out...was cool to see. Least we got my car up and running...Dunno that I could put into words how appreciative I am towards him for comin out and helpin me...was above and beyond the call.
So after that fun filled afternoon we head out for the evening's fesitivities...
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes and seventeen seconds...just incase the lyrics aren't long and drawn out already....Nah, it was good. Not as good as the play granted...there's just something you get from sitting there watching people on stage that you can't get from a film or in a movie theatre...specially wheni've spent most of my last summer in one...there's no special feeling along with sitting in a movie theatre anymore..it's kinda just second nature to me now where as sitting in a play hall, I get swept away into it all. Granted..the lyrics were good..they always are..but they did slow the music down quite a bit from the broadway version..I didn't like that to much as I found it took away from the emotion of all the songs...The lines/ entire songs that they cut helped to put different moods across and the movie audience didn't get to experience that. There were some things I had been quite looking forward to seein that they cut out..things they added in and what not I wasn't sure it needed...but..all in all..it stayed relatively true to the play...but it wasn't nearly as powerfull. I will however, probably still see it again.
