This is a great first installment! You've done a great job with Rose and Scorpius's awkwardness and how they are so afraid to admit they like each other. And I have to say, I loved the confrontation between Ron and Draco.

I just love this pairing. There are so many different ways to explore it, and I really enjoyed the beginning of this one from you.

And I'm looking forward to more!

I can't tell you how much your review means to me, Q. I doubt I would have even attempted to write this without your shared enthusiasm for the pairing and your encouragement when we first started discussing it. I think one of the things I enjoy about this pairing is that they're practically OCs, so we each have a clean slate to start with -- your version is very different from mine, but they're equally valid and enjoyable.

Okay Mags...complete honesty.

This is the only thing that has made me smile all day. Made me grin like a shit eating possum, actually....

I LOVE the take on Rose and Scorpius first of all. I love it that he's a farking Ravenclaw prefect!! I love it that Draco is still a stupid pain in the ass!!!! I love the fact that Ron calls her Rosie. I ADORED the way she blurted the butterbeer story to Verthandi (AWESOME name!)....soooo like a typical teenager.

I eagerly and with frothy, foamy lips await the next installment.

*sits patiently*

Oh, wow! I think this is the first time you've reviewed anything of mine, so that shit-eating possum grin is right back atcha, baby. ;-) I love this pairing because it's such an open book, with an almost infinite range of possibilities for characterizations and premises. I've been hooked on the idea of Rose and Scorpius as two dorky, slightly socially retarded teens meeting cute. It may well turn out to be the fluffiest thing I've ever written. I need to update TGH first, but I will definitely return to this as soon as I can.

*gah* I'm glad I'm up so late! LOL

I love this. I love their characterizations. It doesn't feel fake... combined with Ron's, George's and Draco's spot-on characterizations, Rose and Scorpius feel real. This is such a great beginning!! I didn't expect Ron and Draco (I keep wanting to type "Malfoy"...) to start arguing and threatening each other, but it was brilliant. Ooooh, the angst! This is what makes Scorpius/Rose such a wonderfully compelling, ship post-HP ship.

Scorpius, who had been peering through the glassed-in door, had to step back suddenly as it opened and a gang of boys he recognized from school exited, their arms laden with purchases. Several of them called out greetings to him before they burst into a gallop down the street, laughing boisterously. With a strange sense of longing Scorpius found himself leaning forward, trying to spot a certain wild-haired girl whom he had on good authority was supposed to be inside before the door swung shut, but was thwarted. He sighed with disappointment. Was he longing for friends or ( ... )

Hee! That's all right, because I was up so late getting it ready for posting (I just couldn't wait until the morning). I'm so glad you liked this! You know I've always had a hard time with fluff, but there is something about this couple that I find so adorable I may just have to wrap myself up in marshmallow ( ... )

katieay shuffled me over here and told me I have to read this. I'm so glad I did! I'm really getting behind this pairing, and I like how you set the scene here.

I can't wait for the next chapter!

Wow! Thank you for taking a chance on this. Rose/Scorpius is my new favorite pairing -- not quite my OTP, but it's a close second. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for leaving a review!

BTW, if you haven't, be sure to read queenb23more's Now or Never.

Scorpius didn't know what to do with his hands. First he stuffed them in his pockets, but then he thought that was rather too casual, so he clasped them behind his back, but that struck him as much too formal. He finally attempted to affect an air of diffidence by propping one hand on his hip and raking the fingers of the other through his hair. "Er, hullo, Rose," he said, ignoring his father's snort as he tried to make his voice sound deeper than usual. "Fancy meeting you here."

HEE. Oh, dear, I haven't giggled this much in a long time. SO perfect. <3

I'm looking forward to more of this ... :)
