Oh, I loved this. Sulu's so apologetic and Kirk is just an adorable wise a**. After watching the movie a dozen times last weekend, I can completely imagine the dialogue you created for these three characters, especially Bones. More plz? ;)

Awesome! I'm glad you thought I got their voices right, especially Bones'. I don't have time to do another ficlet yet, but I do have a Reboot WIP that is very Bones-centric - in fact, the chapter I was working on when NaNo began was entirely in his POV. I'll let you know when it's ready for posting (the 1st chapter is on FF.net, but it's in Uhura's POV).

It's brilliant! I was totally not expecting the thumb. (Neither was Bones, as it happened.) And I love the ending. Poor Sulu, trying to apologize, and Kirk giving the signature line!

Yay! The thumb was an out-of-the-blue inspiration - I can see Kirk not thinking it's a big deal, because he's got Bones to patch him up. I'm glad you liked this. Thanks for the awesome prompt that fit so well with jheanne's request!

Poor Ivan probably never had to worry about what he might see if he barged into his mother's bedroom before. :-)

(I still need to write that kitten fic. I've got the idea, I just need to give it some water, sunlight and fertilizer.)

I don't know Bujold's work, so I stuck with the Trek ficlets, and I love both of them! Kirk and Sulu are totally in character in the last one, and McCoy has just the right amount of bluster and care. And the one with Gaila was great -- kind of sad, kind of frustratingly true, and a little bit sexy, too. :) I'd love to see you write Gaila in a longer piece.

Thank you! McCoy is such great fun to write, especially when Kirk is giving him a hard time.

As for Gaila - someday, maybe, but don't hold your breath. She's such a creature of fanon - I'm in love with rheanna27's take on her in "Lunch and Other Obscenities," for example - that I'm not sure I could do her justice without seeming imitative. But never say never, as I always say. :-P

That first one is delightful. How I love Alys! Her self-possession is exactly that absolute, I am sure, though I expect Illyan was less than thrilled by the interruption. One of these days Ivan is going to learn to knock.

I hope you do write more Vorkosigan fic this year.
