Mags, these are great! The Harry/Ginny one is oh-so-poignant...she reminds me a little of Kareen (I just reread Civil Campaign, actually) in that scene, and it fits her so well! So many years of being the younger sister, not ready to exchange one box for the next yet, so to speak.

And Ekatarin's piece. I had to stifle laughter, because I'm in the school library. It would be just like Miles to give her His Voice, too, the Progressive that he is. And the mountain folk's distress. Priceless!

I've never seen the third, but I really felt like I knew what the characters were going through, and that's really awesome!

Interesting comparison, between Ginny and Kareen - I hadn't even thought of that while I was writing. (We're listening to the ACC audiobook on our long drives to/from school - Gobs loves the bug butter stuff.)

I love Ekaterin. Every time I read or listen to one of the books she's in, I find I love her that much more.

I'm glad you enjoyed this! Thanks so much for the review. :-)

Wonderful. I am a sucker for vulnerable Harry.

Well done!

I'm a sucker for vulnerable Harry too, just as I am for independent Ginny. I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reviewing. :-)

Thank you! Ekaterin is one of my favorite characters, and I've been eager to write a fic about her for ages. I'd like to think Cordelia trusts she's left her son in good hands. :-)

Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed this.

Oh, this is glorious! I don't know the third universe but Harry and Ginny and oh Ekaterin was perfect! Cordelia will be proud of her indeed, and I loved that she didn't feel "at home" with the Cordelia-posture but could obviously imagine that she might one day. And that she used it anyway.

And good on Ginny for doing what she wants, and Harry for saying he'll wait. Both of those made me very happy and grinny :)

Thanks for great fic!

Oh, thank you! I had such a good time writing Ekaterin's scene in particular, because I could just imagine her wondering, "How would Cordelia handle this?" and then putting her own spin on things. I'm sure it will be a terrific challenge for her to follow in Cordelia's footsteps as Countess, but I'm confident she's up to the task.

Part of what I love so much about Ginny and Harry's relationship - and Ekaterin and Miles' - is that each partner brings their own strengths to the pairing, and that together they become a true partnership of equals. I'm so pleased you liked this, and really appreciated your comment. :-)

Harry and Ginny were just lovely. That's such a hard situation and it makes so much sense that Harry would want a family right away while Ginny would want to wait. Good thing they trust each other and they'll get through it.

As for Ekaterin -- oh my. I giggled like a loon, and is it bad I now have a desperate desperate need to see the conversation when the women come calling on her? I would also be interested to see how Miles deals with the sex lives of his people haha.

Thank you! I've generally been of the "Harry and Ginny are in agreement on issues like this" mindset, so it was an interesting challenge to write them when they don't see eye to eye, and keep them both sympathetic, IC, and able to come to a satisfactory compromise at the end. As you say, the trust between them is key.

I'm so pleased my Ekaterin fic made you laugh! I love her - and Miles - so much, and have just begun to explore them in fic, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this one. I have a sneaking suspicion that once he got his own romantic situation sorted out, Miles takes great pleasure in playing matchmaker for his people (as he did for Roic and Taura *g*). He just can't NOT meddle in other people's lives.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

You know, it's weird. Miles is first equal in my literary affections with Harry and yet I've never thought to write about him and his fascinating cast of characters. I wonder if it's because his story is still being written by his author, because I didn't begin writing HP fanfic til after DH had been released. After reading this fic, though, I am off to look for more about this couple. I loved your Ekaterin so much and I kinda want to see more of her.

And yes, Miles is a meddler. Remembering him playing weird baba in The Warrior's Apprentice ... heh. I can just see him taking a class for the men on what to do with women in bed, lol.

It is definitely challenging to write in the Vorkosiverse, though I was writing Potterfic soon after OotP came out, so you'd think I'd be used to writing in an open canon by now. There's very little Miles/Ekaterin that I've found so far, but check through bujold_fic. I also have a canon-friendly recs post here, arranged according to the series' chronology (lots of Aral/Cordelia and Simon/Alys, but a few Miles/Ekaterin fics are in there as well).

I can just see him taking a class for the men on what to do with women in bed, lol.
Taking it? He'd be *teaching* it. ;-)
