Hanson thinks that the holders of robots will be the wealthy, but because of relative price shifts, I think that the wealthy will be the holders of raw materials. I think wealth will ultimately come down to a political dispute. Communism failed because of problems with motivation and information. A robot dominated economy will have no problems with motivation and will hopefully have similar informational characteristics of capitalism - people will be able to design what they want and get the robots to make it without worrying about any central planning.
