I have the Auchentoshan 3-wood. Or had. I'll check when I get home if I still have any. I liked it. More complex than the regular, though I like that as well.

Mmm... There are so few Lowland single malts - this one stood out as a good representative. Can you think of any other Lowlands that rock?

I also include the Macallan in any respectable whiskey list. 30 year. 18 year will do in a pinch.

I'm drinking a Macallan 12 Year right now - which is sweet and subtle (I love a good sherry finish) - and I've tried the Macallan Cask Strength - though I was not in the best state to appreciate its nuances.

The 30 would be outside my price range (a quick web search shows a low of $349.00 - *cringe*). I'll have to try the 18.

I don't think I've ever tried scotch period. I don't think it's my kind of liquor.
