Pronunciation Help.

Hey everyone!

Today I was at the library and found a Hungarian-English dictionary and decided to look up the word "landlord", since my landlord is Hungarian and I wanted to surprise him with my out-of-the-blue Hungarian skillz. ;)

It gave me two options: Szállásadó and Háziúr. So my first question is, which one is used more commonly? And also, ( Read more... )

I have always heard Háziúr

I would say Háziúr, I have rarely heard Szállásado.

The vowels with the accent means its a longer sound. For example á would be like the a in lady instead of art for example. I am not sure how to explain it more. So Háziúr would be
Haa-zi-oor.
