Erzsébet Héderváry was born in the summer while her parents were on vacation in Siófok, a resort town on the shores of Lake Balaton. (She has everyone in Hogwarts call her Elizabeta, because really, who can pronounce “Erzsébet” properly in the UK?) She grew up in Pécs, a city located on the Mecsek mountain range, terrain that allowed her to run and climb and jump. She was a tomboy for the first six years of her life - indeed, she thought she was actually a boy until a nearby bully named Gilbert told her she wasn't - but luckily, her cousin Feliks (in Hungarian, Félix) took her aside and showed her the wonderful world of ribbons and dresses and girltalk. She still loved nature and running and swimming and everything, but now her hair was brushed when she did it.
She got into a lot of fights when she was younger, usually with the same couple of boys, Gilbert and Sadiq and a Mongolian boy whose name she could never quite remember. (That might be why he bullied her.) In fact, her magic manifested when she was in a fight with Sadiq - she was so mad at him she made the fez he wore explode. Her parents, both Muggles, tried explaining the weird things that happened by calling them freak accidents, but when the Hogwarts letter of acceptance arrived, they merely sighed and figured it made the most sense.
Her family moved to Budapest when she turned ten, a bigger city than Pécs with less nature. She still spent most of her time outdoors. It was in Budapest, in Hősök tere (Heroes' Square) to be exact, where she met Roderich. An Austrian busker not much older than her, she fell in love with his violin and then with him. After she received her Hogwarts letter, they stayed friends even though they could only see each other on breaks. She won't tell him how she feels, something that frustrates Félix, especially since she claims that no boy at Hogwarts has caught her eye. The flower she wears in her hair was given to her by Roderich.
She excels at Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology due to her love of nature and animals, and is also proficient at Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Her Potions work, however, could use some more practice.
